Sounds like an extra device to be carried around by people. The challenge will be if a separate devise is required for each bank or credit card that you carry. There needs to be a central clearing centre to issue these authentication devices so they can be used for multiple accounts and FI's.

An interesting article where Forrester intially thought this would cut India's offshore business by 30%. Forrester is now considering reducing that number as this story has received little mainstream media coverage. This likely reinforces the idea that fraud takes place everywhere; North America certainly does not have an exclusive on this.

The New York Times > Technology > LexisNexis Says Data Breach May Affect 310,000 People

The NYT story abouth the LexisNexis data theft. What kind of PR headaches will this company face when the send out notices. BTW, they originally announce only 3,000 names and related personal data were compromised.

Is there a tipping point when the number of people affected, requires a massive PR spin? Or is the bar just raised so that the only "news" will be when the next data theft is bigger.
